A flowery orange pekoe, this black tea is grown 4,000 feet above sea level in the Yunnan Province of China. Yunnan is the original home of wild tea plants, along with Assam. Yunnan tea is considered the “noble” Chinese tea and is excellent as part of a continental breakfast. It has an attractive leaf appearance highlighted by fancy golden leaf tips and gentle twists of the leaves, which is evident in well made tea. It has been said that Marco Polo would visit tea houses in China which were of dubious propriety since somewhat bawdy ladies enlivened the atmosphere with song. Perhaps Ying Ming was one of these singers! Light liquoring and delicate with slight nuttiness reminiscent of walnuts, this is one tea that is pure pleasure to your palate.
